Privacy
Tumblegrain doesn't collect your personal data. There are no accounts, ads, analytics or tracking, in the app or on this website.
Who is responsible
Tumblegrain is made by James, an independent developer in the United Kingdom, who is responsible for this policy. You can reach me at hello@tumblegrain.com.
The app on iPhone, iPad and iPhone Duo
- Nothing is collected by me. The app has no sign-in, no ads and no analytics or tracking code, and it doesn't send your creations or activity to me.
- Your creations stay on your device. Boxes (including the autosaved one), settings, discoveries and challenge progress are stored in the app on your device.
- Files and sharing are your choice. If you save a creation to Files or iCloud Drive, or share a picture, clip, code or link, it goes wherever you send it. Apple and the app or person you share with handle it from there.
- Game Center. If the app uses Game Center for achievements, your Game Center profile and progress are handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy.
- Crash reports. If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device's settings, Apple may give me anonymous crash and usage reports. You can turn this off in Settings, under Privacy & Security, then Analytics & Improvements.
This website and the web taster
- No cookies, analytics or ads. The site doesn't set cookies of its own and doesn't use analytics, ads or tracking. Its fonts are hosted here rather than loaded from another company.
- Game progress stays in your browser. The taster stores a few settings, such as whether you have finished the tour, in your browser's local storage on your device. It is never sent to me. Clearing this site's data in your browser removes it.
- Hosting. The site is hosted by Cloudflare. To deliver pages and protect the site from abuse, Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address and browser type. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
If you email me
When you write to hello@tumblegrain.com, I receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. The message passes through Cloudflare's email routing on its way to my inbox. I use it only to reply to you and to fix problems you report, and I delete it once it is no longer needed. I don't share it with anyone or add you to any mailing list.
Children
Tumblegrain is suitable for all ages. Because it doesn't collect personal data from anyone, it doesn't collect any from children.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask what personal data I hold about you, and ask me to correct or delete it. In practice the only personal data I might hold is an email you sent me. Email hello@tumblegrain.com to ask. If you are unhappy with how I have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top.
